Pinned News Version 10.1 is now live!
The site database has now been migrated from version 8 to version 10.1, bringing new features & improved functionality.
- News is now here & help has been revised!
Site news & help are now both accessible from the sidebar & about page.
Posts from the news page like this one can get pushed to all users Notification Centre to provide better notification of site updates & planned downtime. Additionally, group mods can tag the posts they make within their groups as News to push notifications to their own group members.
- Greater control over groups now available!
Groups can now be invite only or public, by default groups remain request to join but now group moderators can open their groups to membership without requests being required or lock down their groups meaning only they can add members.
Additionally, group moderators can now make their groups private. Making a group private means the posts within it are only visible to members of that group & will only appear in the forum feed for members. By default groups remain publicly readable to everyone.
Don't worry if you've acted on a report & removed a user from your group their application will still go to your join requests even if your group has now been made publicly joinable.
- Requests & Reports are now easier!
Each report & request is now assigned a report or request ID. This ID is now searchable to anyone who can take action on reports or requests allowing you to better keep track of the goings on of your corner of the site. Past & present ID's area searchable and you can even find an ID by searching by username or group name.
- Accounts are next...
As of this update not only your join date is displayed on your public account page but also your last date of activity is logged too. In the next revision accounts will be getting a huge overhaul with lots of new features in preparation for Private SnofChats which aren't too far round the corner.
Remember if there is any feature you want to see on this site make a request through the Feature Requests form located in the sidebar, all requests go straight to me so I'll definitely take them into consideration.
